Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, and highly motivated Laundry Supervisor to join our exceptional team at Eko Hotel & Suites. As Laundry Supervisor, you will be instrumental in overseeing the daily operations of our sophisticated laundry department, ensuring all linens, uniforms, and guest items are processed with meticulous attention to detail, quality, and hygiene. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the laundry department, including washing, drying, pressing, folding, and sorting of all hotel linens, uniforms, and guest garments.
- Ensure all laundry operations adhere strictly to established quality control, hygiene, and safety standards and protocols.
- Train, mentor, and motivate laundry staff, ensuring high performance, productivity, and adherence to hotel policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections of processed items to guarantee impeccable cleanliness, presentation, and readiness for use.
- Manage laundry inventory, chemicals, and supplies, ensuring optimal stock levels, efficient usage, and preventing wastage.
- Operate and maintain laundry machinery and equipment, performing minor troubleshooting and arranging for major repairs as needed.
- Develop and implement efficient laundry procedures and schedules to meet the demands of a high-volume, luxury hotel operation.
- Handle guest inquiries and complaints related to laundry services promptly, professionally, and to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on laundry operations, productivity, expenses, and key performance indicators.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of chemicals and safe operation of machinery.
- Work collaboratively with other departments, particularly Housekeeping and F&B, to ensure timely and efficient delivery of linen and uniform services.
- Monitor utility consumption (water, electricity) and implement strategies for conservation within the laundry department.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Laundry Supervisor or similar operational role in a reputable hotel or large-scale commercial laundry.
- In-depth knowledge of various laundry chemicals, detergents, stain removal techniques, and fabric care.
- Familiarity with industrial laundry machinery operation, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Strong leadership, team management, and exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management abilities.
- High attention to detail, precision, and unwavering commitment to quality standards.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and adapt to changing demands.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office) for reporting and inventory management.
- Demonstrated ability to train, motivate, and develop a diverse team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- Certification in Laundry Operations, Textile Care, or relevant vocational training.
- Knowledge of sustainable laundry practices, water conservation, and energy efficiency initiatives.
- Previous experience in a luxury hotel environment with high service standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English; knowledge of other local languages is an advantage.
