Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee daily accounting operations related to corporate finance activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare comprehensive financial statements, reports, and analyses for internal management and external regulatory bodies.
- Participate in the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and capital allocation.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes impacting the bank's financial health.
- Ensure strict adherence to accounting standards (IFRS), corporate policies, and regulatory requirements (CBN).
- Collaborate with internal audit and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial controls, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency and mitigate risks.
- Support treasury functions, including cash flow management, liquidity analysis, and foreign exchange reporting.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to their professional development.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a corporate finance-focused role.
- Proven experience with financial reporting, analysis, and budgeting.
- Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Nigerian accounting principles.
- Proficiency in financial software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle Financials).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information clearly.
