The Ted Wragg Trust is seeking a dedicated School Lunch Supervisor to join one of our vibrant primary schools within Exeter. This vital part-time role involves overseeing pupils during the lunch break, both in the dining hall and on the playground, ensuring a safe, positive, and enjoyable experience for all. You will be instrumental in creating a calm and orderly atmosphere where children can relax, refuel, and engage in constructive play.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise pupils during the lunch break, both in the dining hall and on the playground, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Promote positive behaviour, good manners, and social interaction among pupils.
- Organise and facilitate constructive play activities on the playground.
- Administer basic first aid for minor injuries and seek appropriate assistance for more serious incidents.
- Address minor conflicts and resolve disputes between pupils in a calm and fair manner.
- Report any concerns regarding pupil behaviour, welfare, or safeguarding to the appropriate senior staff.
- Assist with the set-up and clearing of the dining hall, ensuring a clean and organised environment.
- Encourage healthy eating habits and ensure pupils consume their lunch appropriately.
- Ensure adherence to school policies and procedures, particularly regarding health and safety.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach towards children.
- Ability to manage and supervise groups of children effectively.
- A good understanding of child safeguarding principles and practices.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic first aid knowledge or willingness to undertake training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery, or childcare setting.
- Relevant qualification such as an NVQ Level 2 in Support Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
- Current Paediatric First Aid certification.
- Experience working with children with diverse needs or additional learning requirements.
