Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages following established recipes and quality standards.
- Operate and maintain all coffee-making equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper functioning.
- Provide exceptional customer service, engaging with guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately using a POS system.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting café area, including seating, counters, and display cases.
- Monitor and manage coffee bean and supply inventory, placing orders as needed.
- Educate guests on menu items, coffee origins, and brewing methods.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Assist with other café duties as required, including light food preparation.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Barista, preferably in a hotel or high-volume café setting.
- In-depth knowledge of coffee preparation techniques (espresso, latte art, pour-over, etc.).
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic math skills and experience with cash handling/POS systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for hospitality.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification from a reputable coffee academy or barista training program.
- Previous experience working in a luxury hotel environment.
- Familiarity with various coffee bean origins and flavor profiles.
- Ability to communicate in multiple languages (e.g., French, Yoruba) is a plus.
