Key Responsibilities
- Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently using modern point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Handle various forms of payment including cash, credit/debit card, and mobile money transactions, ensuring proper reconciliation at the end of each shift.
- Provide exceptional customer service, greeting customers warmly, answering their questions, and assisting with product inquiries.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting checkout area, ensuring a pleasant environment for shoppers.
- Assist customers with bagging groceries and other purchased items with care.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies and procedures regarding cash handling, security, and customer service standards.
- Report any discrepancies, system issues, or customer complaints to the supervisor promptly and professionally.
- Assist with basic merchandising tasks, stock rotation, or store tidiness during downtimes as directed.
- Actively promote loyalty programs, special offers, and current promotions to customers.
- Handle customer returns or exchanges efficiently and courteously, following established guidelines and procedures.
