Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory records, including precise data entry, regular stock takes, and diligent reconciliation of discrepancies.
- Oversee the efficient receiving, thorough inspection, proper storage, and timely dispatch of fresh produce and other warehouse goods.
- Optimize warehouse layout and storage solutions to maximize space utilization, accessibility, and operational efficiency.
- Prepare and meticulously process all necessary shipping documentation, including packing lists, waybills, and delivery notes.
- Monitor stock levels continuously and collaborate proactively with the procurement team to ensure timely replenishment and prevent stockouts.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventory counts as required, ensuring data accuracy.
- Assist in the effective implementation and continuous improvement of warehouse management systems and inventory control procedures.
- Ensure strict compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies within the warehouse environment.
- Coordinate seamlessly with transport teams for timely and efficient loading and offloading of goods.
- Generate comprehensive inventory reports and provide actionable insights to management on stock performance and trends.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (2+ years) in warehouse operations, inventory control, or logistics support.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, especially in data management and reconciliation.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software (e.g., ERP systems) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- High level of accuracy, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to data integrity.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as an integral part of a collaborative team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in both English and Swahili.
- Physical ability to perform typical warehouse duties, including lifting and moving goods up to 25kg.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Direct experience with fresh produce handling, cold chain logistics, and perishable goods management.
- In-depth knowledge of agricultural supply chain processes and relevant industry best practices.
- Forklift operation certification (or a willingness to obtain certification shortly after hire).
- A valid Kenyan driving license (Class BCE).
