Are you a meticulous and proactive individual with a passion for logistics and inventory management? Savanna Fresh Produce Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Logistics Assistant to join our dynamic team in Loitokitok, Kajiado County. This pivotal role will primarily focus on comprehensive warehouse support and ensuring precise inventory management, playing a critical part in the seamless flow of our agricultural products from farm to market. Your expertise will directly contribute to our operational excellence and the reliable delivery of fresh produce to our customers across Kenya.

As a Logistics Assistant, you will be instrumental in maintaining optimal stock levels, organizing warehouse space efficiently, and guaranteeing the absolute accuracy of our inventory records. You will work closely with our operations and supply chain teams to diligently monitor incoming and outgoing shipments, conduct regular stock counts with precision, and identify and resolve any discrepancies proactively. Your ability to manage complex data, generate insightful reports, and communicate effectively will be crucial in preventing stockouts, minimizing spoilage and waste, and continuously optimizing our storage and distribution processes to meet demand fluctuations. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain accurate inventory records, including precise data entry, regular stock takes, and diligent reconciliation of discrepancies.
  • Oversee the efficient receiving, thorough inspection, proper storage, and timely dispatch of fresh produce and other warehouse goods.
  • Optimize warehouse layout and storage solutions to maximize space utilization, accessibility, and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare and meticulously process all necessary shipping documentation, including packing lists, waybills, and delivery notes.
  • Monitor stock levels continuously and collaborate proactively with the procurement team to ensure timely replenishment and prevent stockouts.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventory counts as required, ensuring data accuracy.
  • Assist in the effective implementation and continuous improvement of warehouse management systems and inventory control procedures.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies within the warehouse environment.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with transport teams for timely and efficient loading and offloading of goods.
  • Generate comprehensive inventory reports and provide actionable insights to management on stock performance and trends.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (2+ years) in warehouse operations, inventory control, or logistics support.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, especially in data management and reconciliation.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software (e.g., ERP systems) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • High level of accuracy, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to data integrity.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as an integral part of a collaborative team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in both English and Swahili.
  • Physical ability to perform typical warehouse duties, including lifting and moving goods up to 25kg.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Direct experience with fresh produce handling, cold chain logistics, and perishable goods management.
  • In-depth knowledge of agricultural supply chain processes and relevant industry best practices.
  • Forklift operation certification (or a willingness to obtain certification shortly after hire).
  • A valid Kenyan driving license (Class BCE).
