Kajiado North Sacco Society Ltd. is seeking a diligent and enthusiastic Bookkeeper – Assistant Accounting to join our vibrant finance team in Kajiado. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and financial statements.
  • Process daily financial transactions, including receipts, disbursements, and general ledger entries.
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts regularly to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports and summaries for management review.
  • Assist with payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate salary disbursements.
  • Maintain organized filing systems for all financial documents, both physical and digital.
  • Comply with all Sacco policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform general administrative duties as required by the finance department, including data entry and responding to financial inquiries.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth departmental operations and achieve collective goals.

Required Skills

  • Diploma or Certificate in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices (e.g., debits, credits, general ledger).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data management and analysis.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all financial documentation.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Swahili.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Demonstrated integrity and a strong sense of confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pursuing or completed CPA Part I or similar professional qualification (e.g., ATD).
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Sacco-specific systems).
  • Prior internship or volunteer experience in a finance or accounting department, particularly within a Sacco or banking environment.
  • Knowledge of Sacco operations, regulatory frameworks, and cooperative principles.
