Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and pack customer orders from designated storage locations according to picking lists and order requirements.
- Verify product codes, quantities, and quality of items before packing to ensure accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
- Prepare orders for shipment by correctly labelling, scanning, and securing packages, adhering to company packing standards.
- Assist with loading and unloading delivery vehicles as required, ensuring proper handling of goods to prevent damage.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations and procedures.
- Operate manual handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, trolleys) safely and efficiently.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and report any discrepancies or damaged goods to supervisors.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily targets and operational deadlines.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures, including those related to hygiene, security, and stock control.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in order picking and packing.
- Good physical fitness and ability to lift and move heavy objects safely (up to 25kg) and stand for extended periods.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills to read picking lists and count stock.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
- Understanding and adherence to health and safety regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or retail environment, particularly in order packing.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or handheld scanners.
- Valid driver's license (Code B or higher) may be advantageous.
- Forklift operator certificate (reach truck or counterbalance) is a bonus, but not essential for this specific role.
