Key Responsibilities

  • Assist experienced plumbers in carrying out plumbing installations, maintenance, and repair tasks.
  • Prepare and transport tools, equipment, and materials to and from job sites efficiently.
  • Help in the preparation of work areas, including clearing obstacles and ensuring safety protocols are followed rigorously.
  • Learn to identify and correctly use various plumbing tools and equipment under supervision.
  • Assist in cutting, threading, and joining pipes as directed by the lead plumber, adhering to specifications.
  • Support with troubleshooting and diagnosing plumbing issues, observing and learning problem-solving techniques.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools, equipment, and work vehicles daily.
  • Observe and learn from skilled plumbers to develop practical knowledge and hands-on expertise in the trade.
  • Perform basic administrative tasks like recording materials used or assisting with simple documentation.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines, company policies, and best practices at all times.

Required Skills

  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25kg) and perform manual tasks.
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability are essential.
  • Eagerness to learn, take direction, and adapt to new challenges.
  • Basic communication skills (proficiency in Kinyarwanda is preferred; English is a plus).
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Prior experience in manual labor, construction, or a related field is a significant advantage.
  • Basic understanding of common hand and power tools and their safe operation.
  • A valid driver's license (Category B) is an advantage, though not strictly required for initial hire.
