Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespeople (e.g., masons, carpenters, plumbers, electricians) with various tasks on site.
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment to and from work areas.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by clearing debris, rubbish, and hazardous materials.
- Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently under supervision.
- Perform general labor duties such as digging trenches, mixing concrete, sweeping, and raking.
- Prepare construction sites by clearing vegetation, leveling ground, and setting up temporary structures.
- Follow all safety regulations, company policies, and instructions from site supervisors diligently.
- Assist in the setup and dismantle of scaffolding, barriers, and other temporary structures.
- Protect and maintain company tools and equipment, reporting any malfunctions or damage promptly.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met.
Required Skills
- Proven physical stamina and strength to perform demanding manual labor.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately and efficiently.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety procedures and protocols.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 6 months of previous experience in construction, general labor, or a similar physically demanding role.
- Basic knowledge of construction materials and their proper handling.
- Possession of a valid First Aid certification.
- A minimum of a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or equivalent.
