Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Supervisor specializing in Inventory Control for our Kwali, Abuja facility. This is a critical role that requires a proactive individual capable of managing warehouse operations across shifts, ensuring optimal inventory accuracy, efficient stock movement, and adherence to safety protocols. As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of our inventory, optimizing storage utilization, and supervising a team of warehouse staff to meet daily operational targets. You will be responsible for overseeing the receiving, storing, picking, and dispatching of goods, with a strong emphasis on meticulous record-keeping and data analysis for inventory management. This role demands excellent leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in streamlining our supply chain processes, contributing directly to operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. You will work closely with other departments to ensure seamless coordination and maintain a high standard of warehouse performance. This position involves working in shifts, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the 24/7 nature of our operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities across assigned shifts, including receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance operations.
  • Implement and maintain robust inventory control systems to ensure accuracy of stock levels, conducting regular cycle counts and full physical inventories.
  • Oversee the proper storage, handling, and rotation of products to minimize damage, spoilage, and obsolescence.
  • Manage and motivate a team of warehouse operatives, providing training, performance feedback, and fostering a safe and productive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HACCP, ISO).
  • Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other inventory software to track and manage stock efficiently.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and operational performance.
  • Optimize warehouse space utilization and layout for maximum efficiency.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with logistics, production, and sales departments to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Operate and maintain warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and effectively, ensuring regular inspections.
  • Conduct safety briefings and ensure all team members adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in warehouse operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role focused on inventory control.
  • Proven experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles, logistics, and supply chain processes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a shift-based environment, including nights and weekends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in inventory management (e.g., APICS CSCP, CPIM).
  • Experience in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry.
  • Forklift operator certification.
