Your day will involve carefully planning routes, meticulously loading and unloading shipments, maintaining accurate delivery records, and ensuring the optimal condition of your assigned vehicle. Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to deliver goods, packages, and documents to designated locations within Kukwuaba, Abuja, and surrounding areas.
- Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently to ensure timely and accurate deliveries, minimizing delays and optimizing fuel consumption.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly to the fleet management team.
- Safely load and unload items, ensuring proper handling and securing of packages to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records of mileage, fuel consumption, and other related documentation.
- Collect and verify delivery payments or obtain signatures as required, maintaining strict adherence to company protocols.
- Provide exceptional customer service, representing GIG Logistics professionally during all interactions with clients and recipients.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and local regulations.
- Keep the company vehicle clean and tidy, presenting a professional image at all times.
- Assist with other operational tasks as needed to ensure smooth logistics operations.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class E or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Thorough knowledge of Abuja road networks and traffic regulations, particularly in Kukwuaba and its environs.
- Excellent defensive driving skills and a clean driving record.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy packages (up to 50kg) and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading.
- Proficiency in using GPS navigation systems and route optimization tools.
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and time management skills.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge for troubleshooting minor issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) or equivalent.
- Previous experience in courier services, express delivery, or e-commerce logistics.
- Familiarity with various types of delivery documentation and digital delivery platforms.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer satisfaction and problem-solving.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, as operational demands require.
