Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a wide range of coffee beverages, including espresso, cappuccino, latte, and specialty drinks, adhering to quality standards.
- Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and process payments using the POS system.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting coffee bar area, including equipment, countertops, and seating zones.
- Manage coffee bean inventory, grind coffee beans, and ensure freshness of ingredients.
- Operate and clean all coffee-making equipment, ensuring proper functionality and hygiene.
- Provide exceptional customer service, respond to inquiries, and resolve any issues promptly and courteously.
- Educate customers about menu items, coffee types, and daily specials.
- Assist with other light duties in the coffee shop area as needed, such as stocking pastries or bottled beverages.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar customer service role
- Excellent knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and equipment
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Reliability and punctuality for weekend shifts
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and managing inventory
- A positive attitude and a passion for creating excellent coffee experiences
- Fluent in English (Kinyarwanda is a plus)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a hotel or restaurant setting
- Demonstrable latte art skills
- Food handler's certification or equivalent
- Ability to communicate in Kinyarwanda or French
