Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef and other cooks in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of various dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Perform basic food preparation tasks including washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients (vegetables, fruits, meats, etc.).
- Ensure all kitchen areas, including workstations, equipment, and utensils, are cleaned and sanitized regularly, adhering strictly to hygiene and food safety regulations.
- Monitor food stock levels, assist with inventory management, and accurately report any shortages or discrepancies to the Head Chef.
- Receive and properly store food deliveries, ensuring correct rotation of stock using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method to minimize waste.
- Help with the plating and garnish of dishes as instructed by senior chefs to maintain high presentation standards.
- Operate basic kitchen equipment such as blenders, mixers, and slicers safely and efficiently.
- Dispose of kitchen waste responsibly and maintain a clean, tidy, and organized workstation at all times.
- Provide essential support to the kitchen team during busy service periods to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and food handling regulations and company policies.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and cooperative team environment.
