Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure all food preparation adheres strictly to hygiene regulations and food safety standards at all times.
- Manage and maintain cleanliness and organization of the assigned kitchen section and equipment.
- Monitor inventory levels for assigned ingredients, reporting needs and assisting with stock rotation to minimize waste.
- Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow and timely delivery of orders.
- Contribute to menu development and innovation, bringing fresh ideas and culinary creativity to the team.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive learning environment.
- Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring proper care and maintenance.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment (hotel or reputable restaurant)
- Solid understanding of food preparation techniques and culinary methods
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP preferred)
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new cooking styles and techniques
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality dishes
Preferred Qualifications
- Culinary degree or diploma from a recognized institution.
- Previous experience within a 4-star or 5-star hotel kitchen.
