Job Description

Bank of Kigali is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Receptionist – Customer Support to join our team in Gisagara, Southern Province. This pivotal role is the first point of contact for our valued customers and visitors, setting the tone for their entire experience with the bank. As a Junior Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our professional image, providing essential administrative support, and delivering exceptional customer service. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including greeting visitors, answering and directing phone calls, handling basic customer inquiries, and ensuring the smooth operation of our front office. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an entry-level professional to gain valuable experience in the banking sector and grow within a leading financial institution. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a genuine desire to assist others. Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet and welcome all visitors and customers to the bank, ensuring a positive first impression.
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls efficiently and professionally, taking messages when necessary.
  • Handle basic customer inquiries, provide information about bank products/services, and direct customers to the appropriate department or specialist.
  • Maintain a tidy and professional reception area and general office space.
  • Assist with basic administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, photocopying, and managing incoming/outgoing mail.
  • Schedule appointments for customers with bank personnel as requested.
  • Manage office supplies inventory for the front office and place orders when needed.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining customer records and documentation.
  • Uphold the bank’s brand image and service standards at all times.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless office operations and customer satisfaction.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Kinyarwanda and English (French is a plus).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy environment.
  • Professional appearance and conduct.
  • A strong commitment to customer service and satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Diploma or Certificate in Business Administration, Office Management, or a related field.
  • Previous experience (even part-time or internship) in a receptionist, administrative, or customer service role.
  • Familiarity with banking operations or financial services industry.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
