Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage audit engagements from planning to completion, ensuring adherence to professional standards and firm methodologies.
- Perform in-depth financial analysis and review of client financial statements, records, and operations.
- Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls and identify control deficiencies.
- Assess financial risks and develop appropriate audit procedures to address identified risks.
- Prepare comprehensive audit reports, management letters, and other assurance deliverables.
- Communicate audit findings, recommendations, and potential areas of improvement to clients and senior management.
- Supervise, train, and mentor junior auditors, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards (IFRS, IPSAS, GAAP), auditing pronouncements, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage client relationships, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and identifying opportunities for additional services.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of audit processes and methodologies within the firm.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in auditing within a reputable accounting firm.
- Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS), and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proven ability to plan, execute, and finalize complex audit engagements independently.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for client and team interaction.
- Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
Preferred Qualifications
- Membership in a recognized professional accounting body (ICAN, ACCA, CPA).
- Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience with public sector auditing or specific industry specializations.
