Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses in accordance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Perform daily accounting tasks, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and reconciliations of various accounts (e.g., bank, intercompany).
- Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by collecting data, preparing schedules, and assisting with variance analysis.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, maintaining proper documentation and audit trails.
- Collaborate with senior accountants and finance managers to resolve discrepancies and improve financial data integrity.
- Contribute to the implementation and adherence to internal controls and financial policies.
- Assist with regulatory reporting and compliance activities, ensuring all financial operations meet legal and industry standards.
- Participate in month-end and year-end close processes.
- Provide administrative support to the finance department as needed, including data entry and document management.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of foundational accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets, formulas, data analysis).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity and commitment to ethical conduct.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Participation in relevant professional accounting body examinations (e.g., ATSWA, ICAN Foundation, ACCA Foundation).
