We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Physiotherapist to join our dynamic healthcare team at Nizamiye Hospital Abuja. This pivotal role involves providing high-quality physiotherapy services to patients across various specialties within our hospital clinic setting. As an experienced professional, you will be instrumental in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a diverse caseload of patients suffering from a range of musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and other physical conditions. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients to determine their physical conditions, needs, and limitations.
- Develop, implement, and review individualized evidence-based physiotherapy treatment plans.
- Utilize a range of therapeutic techniques, including manual therapy, exercise prescription, electrotherapy, and patient education.
- Provide expert care for patients with musculoskeletal, neurological, respiratory, and other complex conditions.
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress, modifying treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate effectively with doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with hospital policies and professional standards.
- Educate patients and their families on their conditions, treatment goals, and home exercise programs.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing to patient care planning and discharge coordination.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives within the physiotherapy department.
- Mentor junior staff and participate in clinical training as required.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy or Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT)
- Current and valid license to practice physiotherapy in Nigeria (Physiotherapy Board of Nigeria)
- Minimum of 3 years of post-NYSC clinical experience as a Physiotherapist, preferably in a hospital setting
- Strong clinical reasoning and diagnostic skills
- Proficiency in a wide range of physiotherapy techniques and modalities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Commitment to continuous professional development
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Physiotherapy or a related specialty
