Three Steers Hotel is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Part-Time Evening Waitstaff to join our vibrant restaurant team in Thika. As a Waitstaff, you will be the face of our restaurant during evening hours, playing a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations and high levels of guest satisfaction. You will be responsible for welcoming guests, presenting menus, taking accurate orders, serving food and beverages efficiently, and processing payments. We are looking for someone who can work collaboratively with kitchen and bar staff, maintain cleanliness standards, and anticipate guest needs with a positive and proactive attitude. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and seat guests upon arrival, ensuring a pleasant first impression.
- Present menus, explain daily specials, and offer recommendations with enthusiasm.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders, noting any special requests or dietary restrictions.
- Deliver food and beverages to tables promptly and courteously, ensuring presentation standards are met.
- Monitor dining areas to anticipate guest needs and promptly respond to requests.
- Process guest payments accurately using our point-of-sale (POS) system and handle cash/card transactions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, dining areas, and service stations.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen and bar staff to ensure seamless service flow.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down dining areas before and after shifts.
- Address guest concerns or complaints with professionalism, escalating when necessary.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards in the restaurant.
- Contribute to a positive and cooperative work environment with team members.
Required Skills
- Proven customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Excellent verbal communication skills in English and Swahili.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
