Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome guests upon their arrival, manage check-ins and check-outs efficiently, and assign rooms.
- Handle guest inquiries, provide accurate information about hotel services, facilities, and local attractions.
- Process reservations, modifications, and cancellations through the hotel's Property Management System (PMS).
- Manage cash and credit card transactions, process payments accurately, and maintain precise billing records.
- Answer and direct incoming calls, taking messages as necessary, and managing general email correspondence.
- Address and resolve guest complaints or issues promptly and professionally, escalating to management when required.
- Maintain a tidy and organized front desk area and lobby, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Assist with luggage handling and provide support for special guest requests.
- Monitor security cameras and report any suspicious activities to ensure guest and property safety.
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and preparing daily reports.
- Collaborate effectively with other hotel departments (housekeeping, maintenance, restaurant) to ensure seamless guest service.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office, email) and ability to quickly learn new software.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a calm approach under pressure.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a busy environment.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
- Experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in hospitality or a related service industry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (1+ year) as a hotel receptionist or front desk agent.
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism, or a related field.
- Familiarity with Property Management Systems (PMS) such as Opera, Fidelio, or similar.
- Knowledge of local attractions, events, and transport options in Lawanson/Surulere.
- Ability to communicate in local languages (e.g., Yoruba) is a plus.
