Key Responsibilities
- Manage and optimise daily logistics operations, including warehousing, transportation, and distribution.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team of logistics professionals.
- Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients, understanding their requirements and ensuring service level agreements are consistently met or exceeded.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, utilising lean methodologies and other best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Oversee budget management, resource allocation, and inventory control to maximise operational profitability.
- Implement and manage logistics technology systems (e.g., WMS, TMS) to streamline processes and improve data accuracy.
- Prepare regular reports on logistics performance, costs, and service levels for senior management.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3-5 years) in a Logistics Management or similar operational leadership role.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of developing and motivating teams.
- Excellent understanding of logistics principles, supply chain management, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in logistics software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Thorough knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and road transport regulations.
