Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance including oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using specialized diagnostic equipment and manual inspection.
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify potential problems and recommend necessary repairs.
- Repair and replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and suspension components.
- Execute engine tune-ups, emission system repairs, and exhaust system maintenance.
- Follow repair manuals, technical bulletins, and industry best practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Provide accurate time and cost estimates for repairs to service advisors.
- Document all services performed and parts used accurately in the workshop management system.
- Communicate effectively with team members and service advisors regarding vehicle status and repair progress.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Mechanic or Auto Technician
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems (engine, transmission, braking, steering, suspension, electrical)
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment (e.g., scan tools, multimeters)
- Ability to perform complex mechanical repairs and rebuilds
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical certification or diploma in Automotive Technology or a related field
