Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently receive all incoming merchandise, meticulously checking for any discrepancies, damage, or defects against purchase orders and corresponding delivery notes.
- Accurately sort, tag, and systematically store items in their designated warehouse locations, diligently ensuring proper stock rotation (FIFO) and ease of accessibility.
- Maintain an impeccably organized and clean warehouse environment, strictly adhering to all company safety protocols and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Assist in conducting regular, comprehensive inventory counts and meticulously reconcile physical stock counts with system records, proactively identifying and reporting any variances.
- Prepare and carefully pack outgoing orders for transfer to various sales floors or other branch locations, ensuring the absolute correctness of items and quantities.
- Safely operate essential warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks or trolleys, as required, and only after receiving proper certification and training.
- Collaborate effectively with the sales and management teams to proactively anticipate stock needs and facilitate a seamless, efficient product flow across departments.
- Promptly report any equipment malfunctions, potential safety hazards, or significant stock discrepancies to the immediate supervisor.
- Contribute to fostering a positive, productive, and cooperative team atmosphere, actively assisting colleagues as needed to collectively achieve departmental and company-wide goals.
- Ensure all stock handling procedures rigorously comply with established company policies and all relevant national health and safety standards.
Required Skills
- Proven physical ability and stamina to comfortably lift, carry, and move heavy items (up to 25 kg) and stand for extended periods throughout a shift.
- Exceptional organizational skills with a strong emphasis on meticulous attention to detail and unwavering accuracy in managing complex inventory.
- Solid basic numeracy skills for efficient counting, accurate quantity checking, and performing simple calculations.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as an integral part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced warehouse setting.
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and a strong, proactive work ethic, including the ability to diligently follow instructions.
- Clear and effective communication skills to interact professionally with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
