Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular and thorough patrols of the retail mall premises, including common areas, parking lots, service corridors, and exterior perimeter, to deter and detect security threats and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Monitor advanced surveillance equipment (CCTV) and alarm systems meticulously to identify and respond proactively to suspicious activities, security breaches, or emergencies.
- Enforce mall rules and regulations consistently and fairly, ensuring a safe, respectful, and orderly environment for all visitors, tenants, and staff.
- Respond promptly, professionally, and effectively to security alarms, disturbances, medical emergencies, fire incidents, and other critical events, taking appropriate action as per established company and site-specific protocols.
- Provide courteous assistance and accurate information to customers, offering directions, support, and guidance while maintaining a professional and helpful demeanor at all times.
- Prepare detailed, accurate, and timely incident reports, documenting all security-related events, observations, actions taken, and witness statements.
- Collaborate closely and communicate effectively with mall management, individual retail tenants, and local law enforcement agencies to ensure coordinated security efforts and incident resolution.
- Manage access control points, ensuring only authorized personnel and vehicles enter restricted areas, and verifying credentials diligently.
- Conduct thorough security checks of incoming and outgoing goods, deliveries, and personnel as required, following prescribed procedures.
- Participate actively in mandatory security drills, training sessions, and continuous professional development programs to maintain a high level of readiness, skill, and knowledge of evolving security best practices.

- Proven experience in security operations, preferably within a retail or public access environment.

Preferred Qualifications
- Formal security training certification (e.g., PSIRA, ASK, or equivalent recognized qualification).
- Previous experience specifically as a Security Officer in a shopping mall or large commercial complex.
- Possession of a Certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya Police Service.
- Additional certifications in fire safety, crowd control, or conflict resolution.
- Experience with advanced CCTV monitoring and access control systems.
- Ability to communicate in local languages (e.g., Luo, Swahili) in addition to English.
