Job Description
We are looking for dedicated and meticulous Cleaning Staff to join our team at the Olkaria Geothermal Complex in Naivasha, focusing specifically on night shifts. This crucial role ensures our administrative offices and common areas are impeccably clean, hygienic, and well-maintained for our employees and visitors. Working independently and as part of a small team, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive range of cleaning services during the quiet hours of the night, contributing significantly to a positive and productive work environment. Your attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness will be key to your success in this role. This is a full-time position requiring commitment to consistent night-time working hours. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties, including dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping floors, and polishing surfaces in office areas, meeting rooms, and corridors.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, mirrors, and replenishing supplies (toilet paper, soap, paper towels).
- Empty waste bins and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
- Clean and disinfect kitchenettes/break areas, including wiping down counters, sinks, and appliances.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning solutions.
- Monitor and maintain an adequate supply of cleaning materials and request replenishment as needed.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards observed during cleaning shifts.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations and company policies.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all areas are locked and secured after cleaning if required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in cleaning or janitorial services, preferably in an office or commercial setting.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
- High level of physical stamina and ability to perform duties such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Reliability and punctuality, especially for night shifts.
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and their safe use.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) or equivalent.
- Previous experience working night shifts.
- Familiarity with industrial cleaning equipment.
- Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
