Job Description

Are you eager to learn a valuable trade and build a secure career from the ground up? Afrifore Construction Ltd. is offering an incredible opportunity for a highly motivated and diligent individual to join our team as a Plumber Apprentice in Burera, Northern Province. This is a unique on-the-job training position designed for individuals with a strong work ethic and a desire to become skilled plumbers, even without prior certification. As a Plumber Apprentice, you will be immersed in real-world construction and maintenance projects, gaining invaluable practical skills that form the foundation of a successful plumbing career. You will learn about water supply systems, drainage, sewage, fixture installation, and essential safety protocols. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist skilled plumbers with the installation, maintenance, and repair of various plumbing systems (water supply, drainage, sewage).
  • Learn to identify, handle, and safely use a wide range of plumbing tools and equipment.
  • Prepare work sites, including gathering materials, organizing tools, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Perform basic tasks such as cutting and assembling pipes, assisting with trenching, and lifting plumbing materials.
  • Strictly adhere to all company safety protocols and industry best practices.
  • Observe and learn techniques for troubleshooting plumbing issues, efficient work execution, and problem-solving.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other site personnel.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and a strong willingness to learn and accept feedback.

Required Skills

  • Strong work ethic and a genuine desire to learn the plumbing trade.
  • Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work independently when directed.
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform manual tasks, lift heavy objects, and work in various weather conditions and environments.
  • Basic understanding of general safety procedures or a strong willingness to learn and apply them immediately.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a positive, collaborative attitude.
  • Good verbal communication skills in Kinyarwanda and/or English.
  • Commitment to completing the apprenticeship program.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completed primary or secondary education.
  • Prior experience in any manual labor, construction-related, or maintenance field is an advantage but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and their uses.
  • Residency in Burera District or surrounding areas, demonstrating local commitment.
