GEE-TECH ENGINEERING LIMITED is actively seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Survey Assistant to join our dynamic team in Aba, Abia. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about precision and fieldwork, eager to contribute to critical infrastructure and development projects. As a Survey Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our professional surveyors by performing a variety of tasks both in the field and in the office. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the collection of accurate geospatial data, which is fundamental to the successful planning, design, and execution of our diverse engineering and construction projects. You will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and integrity of our survey operations, working with cutting-edge equipment and contributing to a safe and efficient work environment. Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed surveyors in setting up, operating, and maintaining surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS equipment, and levels.
- Perform various fieldwork tasks including clearing brush, driving stakes, holding survey rods, and marking points as directed.
- Accurately record field notes, measurements, and other relevant data, ensuring clarity and completeness.
- Assist with the preparation of survey sites, including measuring and marking boundaries, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Transport and maintain survey equipment, ensuring it is in good working order and properly calibrated.
- Participate in preliminary data processing and calculations under supervision.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as industry best practices.
- Communicate effectively with team members and site personnel to ensure smooth operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the surveying team and project timelines.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and data recording.
- Good physical stamina and ability to work outdoors for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Basic mathematical skills for calculations and measurements.
- Ability to follow instructions precisely and work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures for fieldwork.

Preferred Qualifications
- Ordinary National Diploma (OND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Surveying, Geoinformatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience (e.g., industrial attachment or short-term role) as a survey assistant or in a similar field role.
- Familiarity with basic land surveying principles and equipment.
- Knowledge of basic CAD or GIS software is a plus but not required.
