Key Responsibilities
- Execute safe, timely, and efficient delivery of pizza orders to customers within the designated Boksburg delivery zones.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of all orders against invoices before departure from the store.
- Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, courtesy, and exceptional customer service during every interaction.
- Accurately handle cash and card payments, processing transactions efficiently using a mobile Point-of-Sale (POS) device.
- Strictly adhere to all local traffic laws, regulations, and company safety protocols.
- Assist with various in-store duties during non-peak delivery periods, including cleaning, stocking shelves, and preparing orders.
- Facilitate clear and effective communication with store management and customers regarding delivery status, delays, or any unforeseen issues.
- Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip checks on your delivery vehicle (if owned) to ensure it remains roadworthy and well-maintained.
- Represent Debonairs Pizza brand values and service excellence with a positive and friendly disposition at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid South African motorcycle license (Code A or A1)
- Impeccable driving record, free from major infractions
- Excellent topographical knowledge of Boksburg and surrounding delivery areas
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to perform efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive and customer service-oriented approach
- Competent basic numeracy skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing
- High degree of reliability, punctuality, and personal accountability
- Proficiency in utilizing GPS and other navigation applications effectively
Preferred Qualifications
- A minimum of 6 months of prior experience as a delivery rider, preferably within a food service context
- Ownership of a reliable, roadworthy motorcycle or scooter with valid registration and comprehensive insurance (this is a significant advantage)
- Previous familiarity with mobile point-of-sale (POS) systems for order and payment processing
- Good physical stamina and endurance to manage sustained riding and the potential lifting of delivery bags.
