Protea Hotel by Marriott, Ikeja Select, is seeking a diligent and dedicated Laundry Attendant to join our exceptional Housekeeping team. As a Laundry Attendant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring all hotel linen, towels, and guest garments are cleaned, pressed, and handled with the utmost care and efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial washing machines and dryers in accordance with hotel standards and safety guidelines.
- Sort laundry items (linens, towels, uniforms, guest garments) by type, color, and degree of soil.
- Identify and pre-treat stains effectively using appropriate cleaning agents.
- Monitor laundry equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Fold, stack, and organize cleaned linen and towels for distribution to various hotel departments and guest rooms.
- Maintain accurate records of laundry processed and inventory levels.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Handle guest laundry requests with discretion and efficiency, ensuring timely return.
- Support other housekeeping duties as needed, contributing to overall cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure the laundry area is kept clean, tidy, and organized at all times.
Required Skills
- Previous experience in a laundry or housekeeping role, preferably within a hotel setting.
- Familiarity with operating industrial laundry equipment.
- Knowledge of various fabric types and appropriate washing/drying techniques.
- Ability to identify and treat common stains.
