Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and compassionate Animal Feeder to join our dedicated team at Jecool Poultry Farm. This essential role is critical to the health, well-being, and productivity of our poultry and fish populations. As an Animal Feeder, you will be responsible for the daily preparation and distribution of feed, ensuring that all animals receive the proper nutrition required for optimal growth and health. This position requires an individual who is reliable, attentive to detail, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of animal care and farm hygiene. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and accurately distribute appropriate feed rations to poultry (chickens, layers) and fish (tilapia, catfish) according to established schedules and dietary requirements.
- Monitor feed intake and observe animals for any signs of illness, injury, or unusual behavior, reporting any concerns promptly to farm management.
- Ensure fresh water is always available to all animals and routinely clean water troughs and feeding equipment.
- Assist with the cleaning and maintenance of poultry coops, fish ponds, and surrounding farm areas to ensure a clean and hygienic environment.
- Participate in general farm duties such as egg collection, pond aeration, minor repairs, and other tasks as assigned by the farm supervisor.
- Maintain accurate daily records of feed consumption, animal health observations, and other relevant farm data.
- Adhere strictly to all farm safety protocols, biosecurity measures, and animal welfare guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with other farm staff to ensure smooth and efficient farm operations.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor, including lifting feed bags (up to 25kg) and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
- Reliability and punctuality, with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic communication skills to report observations and interact with colleagues.
- A genuine interest in animal welfare and agricultural practices.
Preferred Qualifications
