Job Description
Target Engineering Construction Company is seeking an experienced and highly organized Camp Boss to oversee the daily operations and management of our worker accommodation camp in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi. This critical role ensures the well-being, safety, and comfort of our project personnel, fostering a productive and harmonious living environment essential for the success of our large-scale projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive management of all camp facilities, including accommodation blocks, dining services, recreation areas, and utility services, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and operational efficiency. You will act as the primary point of contact for all camp residents regarding their welfare and logistical needs, working closely with various departments such as HR, Project Management, and Procurement to ensure seamless support for our project teams. This role requires strong leadership, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to maintaining a high-quality living standard for our diverse workforce, contributing directly to the overall success and morale of our projects in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day management of the worker accommodation camp, ensuring all facilities are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness.
- Manage catering services, ensuring timely provision of high-quality, nutritious meals while adhering strictly to food safety regulations and diverse dietary requirements.
- Supervise camp staff, including cleaners, cooks, and maintenance personnel, providing guidance, training, and conducting performance evaluations to foster a high-performing team.
- Coordinate with procurement for timely supply of camp provisions, equipment, and consumables, maintaining accurate inventory records to prevent shortages.
- Handle accommodation allocation, check-ins, and check-outs, ensuring efficient space utilization and high resident satisfaction.
- Implement and enforce company policies, rules, and regulations within the camp environment, promoting a disciplined, respectful, and secure atmosphere.
- Address resident grievances, concerns, and emergencies promptly and effectively, ensuring a supportive and responsive living environment for all.
- Monitor and manage utility services (water, electricity, waste management) to ensure efficient use, proper functioning, and sustainability.
- Conduct regular inspections of camp facilities to identify maintenance needs and ensure continuous compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
- Prepare comprehensive regular reports on camp operations, inventory, expenses, and incidents for management review and decision-making.
- Organize and oversee recreational activities and welfare programs for camp residents to enhance morale, foster community, and promote well-being.
- Ensure the security of the camp premises and residents, coordinating effectively with security personnel as required to maintain a safe environment.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in camp management, facilities management, or hospitality services, preferably in a remote site or industrial setting for a minimum of 7 years.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, capable of motivating and guiding a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with a diverse workforce and various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English; working knowledge of Arabic is a significant advantage.
- Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and stringent food hygiene standards.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Proficient in basic computer applications (MS Office Suite for reporting and record-keeping).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- Valid UAE Driving License.
- First Aid and Fire Safety certifications.
- Experience working with large multinational workforces in the GCC region, understanding cultural nuances.
