We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Senior Municipal Clerk to join our administrative team in Lutzville, Western Cape. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate administrative support for Council meetings, committee meetings, and other official municipal gatherings, including preparing agendas, minute-taking, and distributing relevant documentation.
- Ensure accurate and comprehensive record-keeping of all municipal resolutions, decisions, official correspondence, and documents in compliance with legislative requirements and internal policies.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for internal departments and the public regarding municipal administrative procedures, providing accurate information and directing queries appropriately.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and review of administrative policies, procedures, and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Supervise, train, and mentor junior administrative staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Facilitate internal and external communication flows, ensuring timely and clear dissemination of information.
- Prepare and process various municipal documents, reports, and official certificates with precision and confidentiality.
- Manage archiving and retrieval systems for municipal records, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant local government legislation, by-laws, and provincial/national regulations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in municipal administration or a similar governmental clerical role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Afrikaans.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly.
- Thorough understanding of local government administrative processes and legislative frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications
