Job Description

Acxiom is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team in Little Rock, Arkansas. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical components and systems for our data centers and other internal facilities. This role demands a deep understanding of engineering principles, problem-solving capabilities, and a collaborative spirit. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, project managers, and technicians, to ensure the successful implementation of projects. You will be involved in all phases of the product lifecycle, from concept to completion, including design reviews, prototype development, testing, and documentation. This position presents an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution to Acxiom’s technological infrastructure, working on cutting-edge projects and challenging problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems using CAD software.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses for proposed designs.
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate design performance and reliability.
  • Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems into larger projects.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in existing systems.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in mechanical engineering technology and techniques.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.
  • Experience with mechanical design, analysis, and testing.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with data center infrastructure design
  • Experience with project management methodologies (Agile)
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA)
