Key Responsibilities
- Accurately capture and process large volumes of data from various sources into designated municipal databases and systems.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of data before and after entry, identifying and correcting any discrepancies or errors.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and security of all sensitive municipal and personal information handled.
- Organise and file physical and electronic documents systematically for easy retrieval and reference.
- Generate reports, summaries, and analyses from captured data as required by management or other departments.
- Assist in the migration of data from legacy systems to new platforms, ensuring data integrity.
- Adhere to all municipal policies, procedures, and government regulations pertaining to data management and information security.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and other departments to resolve data-related queries or issues.
- Perform regular data backups and ensure data recovery procedures are understood and followed.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data capture processes and systems.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Data Capturer or in a similar data entry role (minimum 1 year).
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data management software.
- Fast and accurate typing speed with a high level of data entry proficiency.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- High level of integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- A National Senior Certificate (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
