Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas (e.g., reception, dining room, lounges) according to established standards.
- Change linens, make beds, and ensure fresh towels are provided daily.
- Replenish room amenities such as toiletries, coffee/tea supplies, and bottled water.
- Perform laundry duties, including washing, drying, folding, and ironing guest linens and towels.
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, and polish floors.
- Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and surfaces.
- Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
- Empty waste bins and ensure proper disposal of waste.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to management promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of storage areas and trolleys.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and cleaning protocols.
- Assist with other ad-hoc tasks as required to support the smooth operation of the guesthouse.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a housekeeping or cleaning role, preferably in a hospitality setting.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry items regularly.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and equipment usage.
- Good communication skills (verbal, English and/or Afrikaans).

- Prior experience specifically in a B&B or guesthouse environment.
