Job Description
We are seeking a professional, reliable, and friendly Shuttle Driver to join our esteemed team at Bloomestate Luxury Retreat. This pivotal role is far more than just driving; you will be the first and last impression for many of our guests, embodying the warmth and sophistication of our brand. As a Shuttle Driver, you will be responsible for providing safe, timely, and comfortable transportation services for our guests, primarily to and from local attractions, bus stations, or pre-arranged pick-up/drop-off points within Swellendam and the surrounding areas. Your duties will extend to assisting guests with their luggage, offering local insights and recommendations, and ensuring the impeccable presentation and maintenance of the vehicle. This role requires an individual with exceptional driving skills, an impeccable safety record, a strong sense of responsibility, and an innate ability to deliver outstanding customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport guests to and from designated locations, adhering to schedules and local traffic laws.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and courtesy, ensuring a pleasant and comfortable journey for all passengers.
- Assist guests with luggage loading and unloading, demonstrating care and efficiency.
- Keep the vehicle clean, fueled, and well-maintained, conducting daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions, maintenance needs, or incidents promptly to management.
- Provide local information, recommendations, and answer guest queries about Swellendam attractions, dining, and activities.
- Manage transportation schedules, ensuring punctuality and clear communication with guests and front desk staff.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety regulations, including those related to vehicle operation and guest service.
- Represent Bloomestate Luxury Retreat with pride and integrity in all interactions.
Required Skills
- Valid South African Code 08 (B) Driver's License.
- Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) for passenger transport.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a hospitality or tourism setting.
- Impeccable driving record with no major violations.
- Excellent knowledge of Swellendam and surrounding Western Cape routes and attractions.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English (verbal and written).
- Punctual, reliable, and highly responsible.
- Physical ability to assist with luggage and perform vehicle checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a driver in a luxury hotel, guesthouse, or chauffeur service.
- Additional language proficiency (e.g., Afrikaans, Xhosa, German, French).
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
- First Aid certification.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.
