Job Description
We are actively seeking a diligent, proactive, and highly responsible Gate Keeper to join our dynamic operational team at our Bethlehem, Free State facility. As a pivotal member of our security framework, you will serve as the critical first point of contact, embodying professionalism and unwavering vigilance in controlling and managing access to our extensive premises. This crucial role extends far beyond the mere operation of entry and exit points; it demands a keen eye for detail, exceptional observational skills, and an unshakeable commitment to maintaining a secure, safe, and orderly environment for all stakeholders. You will be entrusted with upholding our stringent security protocols, meticulously monitoring the ingress and egress of all vehicles, personnel, and goods, and accurately documenting every movement with precision.
Your daily responsibilities will encompass the thorough verification of identities for all individuals seeking entry, the efficient issuance and retrieval of visitor passes, and the methodical conduct of routine inspections of vehicles. These inspections are vital to ensuring strict compliance with company regulations and to prevent unauthorized items or personnel from gaining access to our sensitive operational areas. You will be responsible for operating and monitoring advanced security barriers, gates, and potentially state-of-the-art surveillance equipment, ensuring their optimal functionality at all times. In the unfortunate event of alarms or security incidents, you will be expected to respond promptly, assess the situation calmly, and report effectively to the appropriate management or security personnel, acting as a crucial first responder in critical moments.
Beyond your core security duties, you will also play a vital role in providing excellent customer service. This includes offering clear, courteous, and accurate directions to visitors, delivery personnel, and contractors, ensuring a smooth and efficient flow of operations without ever compromising our robust security standards. Your proactive approach to conducting regular perimeter checks and diligently reporting any suspicious activities, irregularities, or potential breaches will be invaluable in protecting company assets, preventing losses, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all staff and visitors. Continuous collaboration with internal security teams and management will be key to continually enhancing overall site safety, operational efficiency, and security posture. This role demands a high level of integrity, reliability, and a consistent adherence to all company policies and procedures. It is a full-time, on-site position requiring flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, to ensure continuous, 24/7 coverage and the unwavering security of our Bethlehem facility. Join Senwes and contribute your expertise to a legacy of agricultural excellence, underpinned by robust security measures that safeguard our operations and our people.
