Key Responsibilities
- Operate buses safely and efficiently on scheduled routes within Boksburg and surrounding areas.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road signs, and company operating procedures.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers, assisting with boarding and alighting as necessary.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or maintenance requirements promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and passenger counts.
- Handle passenger inquiries, complaints, and emergencies professionally and calmly.
- Collect fares and issue tickets accurately where applicable.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, operations supervisors, and other team members.
- Respond to unforeseen circumstances, such as accidents, breakdowns, or medical emergencies, according to company protocol.
- Maintain a clean and tidy bus interior for passenger comfort.
Required Skills
- Valid Code EC (or equivalent) Driver's License with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP – Public Passenger).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable bus driving experience.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Excellent knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
- Strong defensive driving skills and situational awareness.
- Ability to operate various types of buses, including manual and automatic transmissions.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Punctuality and reliability.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, as per operational requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (NQF Level 4).
- Experience with public transportation systems.
- First Aid certification.

- Familiarity with GPS and route navigation systems.
