Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet guests upon their arrival at the hotel entrance and professionally assist with the efficient loading and unloading of luggage from their vehicles.
- Safely and carefully transport guest luggage to and from their designated rooms, ensuring proper handling and utmost care of their belongings.
- Graciously escort guests to their rooms, providing a comprehensive and engaging overview of hotel facilities, available services, and specific room features.
- Actively assist guests with a wide range of special requests, inquiries, and provide accurate directions to local attractions, reputable restaurants, and convenient transport options.
- Maintain a consistently clean, organized, and inviting lobby, entrance area, and luggage storage space.
- Coordinate effectively and seamlessly with the front desk and concierge team to ensure smooth guest transitions and impeccable service delivery.
- Respond promptly, courteously, and efficiently to all guest needs and concerns, escalating any complex issues to management when deemed necessary.
- Assist with the timely delivery of packages, important messages, and thoughtful amenities to guest rooms.
- Operate hotel vehicles (if required and properly licensed) for guest transport or various hotel errands, adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Adhere strictly to all hotel safety, security procedures, and established company policies at all times.
Required Skills
- Exceptional customer service and outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Strong verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate clearly and professionally.
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy luggage (up to 25kg) and comfortably stand/walk for extended periods.
- Impeccable professional demeanor and a consistently neat, well-groomed appearance.
- Highly reliable, punctual, and possesses a strong, dedicated work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (minimum 6 months) in a similar bellhop, porter, or guest service role within a reputable hotel or hospitality setting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Durban area, its major attractions, and local points of interest.
- Valid driver's license (Code 08/B) with a clean and demonstrable driving record.
- Fluency in an additional South African official language (e.g., isiZulu, Afrikaans) would be advantageous.
