As a Flag Person, you will be the front line of safety, responsible for directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely through and around construction zones. Your role is critical in preventing accidents, maintaining efficient traffic flow, and protecting our valuable construction crews. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, standing for extended periods. Key Responsibilities
- Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely around construction and utility work zones using hand signals, flags, and other approved signaling devices.
- Communicate effectively with construction crews, heavy equipment operators, and other flaggers to coordinate movements and maintain a safe work environment.
- Set up, maintain, and remove temporary traffic control devices such as cones, barricades, warning signs, and arrow boards according to safety regulations and work zone plans.
- Monitor traffic patterns and adjust control methods as necessary to ensure smooth flow and prevent congestion or hazards.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and local traffic control guidelines.
- Maintain constant awareness of the surrounding environment, potential hazards, and changing conditions.
- Provide clear and courteous instructions to the public, answering basic questions about traffic redirection.
- Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections of assigned equipment and report any issues.
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind, for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Flag Person or in traffic control.
- ATSSA (American Traffic Safety Services Association) Flagger Certification.
- OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety certification.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
