Pasadena Media is seeking an enthusiastic and highly organized Production Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic team. This entry-level position is perfect for an aspiring media professional eager to gain hands-on experience across a variety of film and television productions, ranging from studio-based shows to on-location shoots and digital content creation. The Production Assistant will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of our diverse projects, providing crucial support to producers, directors, and crew members. Key Responsibilities
- Assist producers, directors, and crew members with various tasks during pre-production, production, and post-production phases.
- Manage and organize production equipment, including setup, breakdown, and inventory checks.
- Coordinate logistics for on-location shoots, including transportation, catering, and permit assistance.
- Perform administrative duties such as scheduling, managing call sheets, organizing production paperwork, and taking notes.
- Provide on-set support, including running errands, distributing scripts, and ensuring crew comfort and needs are met.
- Assist with studio operations, including lighting setup, camera operation (under supervision), and audio recording.
- Help with digital asset management, including file transfers, labeling, and basic editing tasks (e.g., logging footage).
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, both in the studio and on location.
- Act as a liaison between different departments, ensuring clear communication and efficient workflow.
- Support outreach and engagement efforts for community participation in various programs.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated passion for film, television, or media production
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment
- Proficiency with basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace)
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift and move production equipment (up to 50 lbs)
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as production schedules demand
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Film, Television, Media Studies, or a related field
- Previous experience (paid or unpaid) in a production environment or similar role
- Familiarity with basic camera, lighting, and audio equipment
