In this pivotal role, you will be the primary point of contact for a portfolio of our valued employer groups, responsible for fostering strong, lasting relationships and ensuring their utmost satisfaction with our dental benefit programs. This isn’t just about managing accounts; it’s about understanding the unique needs of each client, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance their experience, and serving as a trusted advisor on all aspects of their dental benefits.

As an Account Manager, you will be instrumental in driving client retention and identifying avenues for growth within your assigned book of business. You’ll lead client meetings, conduct annual reviews, and present tailored solutions that align with their strategic goals and employee wellness initiatives. Your expertise will guide clients through plan renewals, benefit utilization analyses, and regulatory changes, ensuring they receive maximum value from their partnership with Northeast Delta Dental. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of existing employer group clients, serving as their primary point of contact and trusted advisor.
  • Cultivate and strengthen client relationships through regular communication, proactive engagement, and personalized service.
  • Conduct comprehensive annual reviews and strategic meetings with clients to discuss plan performance, utilization, and renewal options.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling additional benefits or services to existing clients.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (Sales, Underwriting, Member Services, Claims) to ensure seamless client experience and issue resolution.
  • Prepare and deliver client-specific presentations, proposals, and educational materials.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform client strategies and service improvements.
  • Ensure client compliance with all relevant dental benefit regulations and company policies.
  • Educate clients on new product offerings, benefit changes, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in CRM systems.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in account management, client relations, or sales, preferably within the insurance, healthcare, or benefits industry.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong negotiation and presentation abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving aptitude with a proactive approach to client needs.
  • A solid understanding of dental insurance or employee benefits is highly advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in the dental benefits or health insurance industry.
  • Active state-specific producer's license (or willingness to obtain one upon hire).
  • Experience with large group accounts and complex benefit structures.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks impacting health and dental benefits.
