Save Mart Supermarkets in Brookside, Stockton, is seeking a dedicated Trolley Collector (also known as Courtesy Clerk Support) to join our dynamic team. This essential role is critical to maintaining a positive first impression for our customers and ensuring a smooth, safe shopping experience. As a Trolley Collector, you will be responsible for the efficient retrieval and organization of shopping trolleys from our parking lot and surrounding areas, ensuring they are readily available for customer use inside the store. Your contributions will directly impact customer satisfaction by keeping our store’s exterior neat, safe, and welcoming. This physically active position requires someone who is comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions, capable of pushing and pulling heavy loads, and committed to excellent service. Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently collect and retrieve shopping trolleys from all areas of the parking lot, store perimeter, and designated trolley bays.
- Return trolleys to the designated store entrance areas in an organized and safe manner for customer use.
- Inspect trolleys for damage and report any issues to store management for repair or removal.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the parking lot by picking up discarded items and debris.
- Assist customers with carrying groceries to their vehicles when necessary, demonstrating excellent customer service.
- Provide friendly and helpful assistance to customers with directions or general inquiries.
- Ensure parking lot areas are free from hazards and obstructions.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, especially those related to outdoor work and heavy lifting.
- Support other store operations as needed, contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Required Skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
- Physical stamina and strength to push, pull, and maneuver multiple shopping trolleys frequently.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be at least 18 years of age due to equipment operation and safety regulations.
