PharMerica is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pharmacist to join our team in Charleston, South Carolina. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely dispensing of medications, providing pharmaceutical care, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently dispense medications according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Review medication orders for appropriateness and potential drug interactions.
- Provide patient counseling and education on medication use and adherence.
- Maintain accurate medication records and inventory control.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient medication therapy.
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Required Skills
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
- Current state licensure as a Pharmacist in South Carolina
- Experience with long-term care pharmacy preferred
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology and medication therapy management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in pharmacy software and technology
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in long-term care or institutional pharmacy
- Board certification in geriatric pharmacy
- Experience with electronic health records (EHRs)
