Key Responsibilities
- Accurately load and unload packages from trucks and conveyors, ensuring proper placement, stacking, and weight distribution.
- Sort packages by destination, zip code, or other specific categories using manual methods and scanning equipment efficiently.
- Scan incoming and outgoing packages, verifying labels and identifying any discrepancies or damaged items.
- Inspect packages for damage and report any issues to supervisors immediately, following established protocols.
- Operate equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling tools safely and efficiently (training provided for certification if needed).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering strictly to all company safety guidelines and procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth and timely package flow, meeting daily operational goals.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations to ensure a secure and productive work environment for everyone.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall warehouse operations and ensure business continuity.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally (with assistance).
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic literacy (reading and understanding package labels and safety instructions).
- Reliability and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or package handling role.
- Experience operating material handling equipment.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
