Job Description
As a Solutions Architect at Google, you will be a pivotal technical leader, working with our most strategic customers to help them design, develop, and deploy cutting-edge solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role is far more than just technical; it’s about translating complex business requirements into elegant, scalable, and resilient cloud architectures. You will serve as a trusted advisor, guiding customers through the entire cloud journey, from initial concept and proof-of-concept to full-scale implementation and optimization. You’ll be responsible for deep-diving into customer workloads, identifying opportunities for digital transformation, and demonstrating the unique value proposition of Google Cloud. Your expertise will span across various GCP services, including compute, storage, networking, databases, analytics, machine learning, and application development. You’ll architect solutions that address critical business needs, ensuring they are secure, cost-effective, and aligned with industry best practices. Key Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, high-performance, and secure cloud architectures leveraging Google Cloud Platform services.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, understanding their business objectives and translating them into technical solutions.
- Develop and deliver compelling presentations, demos, and proof-of-concepts to showcase the value of Google Cloud.
- Collaborate with sales teams to identify and qualify opportunities, providing technical expertise throughout the sales cycle.
- Provide technical guidance and best practices to customers on migration strategies, cost optimization, and operational excellence.
- Stay current with Google Cloud product developments and industry trends, continuously expanding your technical expertise.
- Contribute to the creation of best practices, reference architectures, and reusable solution assets.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of experience in a customer-facing role (e.g., Solutions Architect, Consulting Engineer, or Technical Sales Engineer).
- Deep technical expertise in cloud computing concepts and architectures (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, serverless).
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other major cloud providers (AWS, Azure).
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, Go, Node.js) and scripting (Bash, PowerShell).
- Strong understanding of networking, security, database technologies, and DevOps principles.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant technical field.
- Google Cloud Professional Architect certification or other relevant cloud certifications.
- Experience with data analytics technologies (e.g., BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Looker) or Machine Learning (e.g., TensorFlow, Vertex AI).
- Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns and APIs.
- Experience working with global or large-scale enterprise customers.
