Job Description

Are you a visionary leader with a passion for community empowerment and program development? The Resurrection Project is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Community Program Director to lead our impactful initiatives in Pilsen, Chicago. This pivotal role will be responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of various community-based programs designed to foster economic development, social justice, and civic engagement within our target neighborhoods. The ideal candidate will possess a profound understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the Pilsen community, coupled with a proven track record of developing and managing successful community programs from conception to completion.

As Community Program Director, you will work collaboratively with a diverse team, community stakeholders, and partner organizations to identify needs, design innovative solutions, and ensure that our programs are responsive, equitable, and effective. You will be instrumental in building strong relationships, securing resources, and advocating for policies that support our mission. This role demands exceptional leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a commitment to data-driven decision-making. You will mentor program staff, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with funding requirements, all while keeping the community’s best interests at heart. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee strategic community programs aligned with TRP's mission and community needs.
  • Lead and manage program staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, residents, local businesses, and partner organizations.
  • Monitor program effectiveness, collect and analyze data, and prepare comprehensive reports for stakeholders and funders.
  • Manage program budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and adherence to grant requirements.
  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including grant writing and donor cultivation.
  • Advocate for policies and initiatives that promote community development, social justice, and resident empowerment.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in program development and management within a community-based or non-profit setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, budget management, and staff supervision.
  • Strong understanding of community development principles and social justice issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and report writing.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and program evaluation methodologies.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and foster inclusive environments.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) highly preferred due to the community served.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Urban Planning, Non-profit Management, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successful grant writing and fundraising for community programs.
  • Deep knowledge of the Pilsen, Little Village, or Back of the Yards communities in Chicago.
  • Experience with CRM software and project management tools.
