Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, toileting, and feeding.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities such as reading, games, and light exercise.
- Assist with instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) such as light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and medication reminders.
- Help clients with safe transfers, ambulation, and positioning, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Transport clients to appointments, errands, and social outings as needed, using your own reliable transportation.
- Monitor and report changes in client’s condition, behavior, or cognitive status to the supervising nurse or case manager.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for clients.
- Document care provided accurately and timely according to BrightStar Care policies and procedures.
- Adhere strictly to all client care plans, safety protocols, and privacy regulations (HIPAA).
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license and reliable automobile with current insurance.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and patience.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliability and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience providing care for seniors or individuals with disabilities (formal or informal).
- CPR certification (can be obtained upon hire).
- Basic knowledge of first aid.
- Experience with documenting client care.
