Key Responsibilities
- Perform skilled diagnostic and repair work on residential and light commercial HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, and related components.
- Conduct preventative maintenance services, including cleaning, adjusting, and testing systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
- Install new HVAC units and systems, adhering to manufacturer specifications, local codes, and company standards.
- Accurately complete service tickets, work orders, and other necessary documentation in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with customers, explaining diagnoses, repair options, and system operations clearly and professionally.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked company service vehicle and ensure all tools and equipment are in proper working order.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Provide exceptional customer service, building rapport and trust with clients to foster long-term relationships.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of verifiable experience as an HVAC Service Technician.
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing residential and light commercial HVAC equipment.
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics, refrigerant charging, and airflow dynamics.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- NATE certification in one or more specialties (e.g., Air Conditioning, Heat Pump, Gas Heating).
- Associate’s degree or certificate from an accredited HVAC technical school.
- Experience with smart home technology and integrated HVAC systems.
- Familiarity with various HVAC brands and models.
- Proven track record of exceeding customer expectations.
